Software Setup

How long does it take to set up my new website and software?

How quickly can you provide us the necessary information? Your website can be set up in about three weeks from the time you sign up and agree to the terms of service. In order to produce your website in a timely manner, we need to receive your down payment, signed contracts, relevant content to your individual business (including pricing, rules, regulations), your existing student spreadsheet, and any photos you want used on your website. When we start the process, you will be given a list to complete. Consider this your homework assignment. The sooner you get it done, the sooner we can put you on the road to easy street.

Can I add more pages than what the standard themes offer?

Yes. You know your business and what information you need to display for your customers. We never want to limit your ability to promote your business. Additional pages take approximately two hours to complete depending on the amount of content or forms you desire. For instance, you could have us program a quiz on your site for your students. The options are endless. Just contact your account manager, and we will provide you with a quote for the additional pages. We're happy to make your site just the way you want it.

Do I have to download special software to use it?

No. That's the beauty of this software. It's all web-based so you can modify your site anywhere you have a computer and internet access.

I don't have a merchant account for credit card processing. Can you help?

Yes. It's recommended to use our preferred merchant vendor because the software is already designed to use their API for processing credit cards on our sites. There are monthly fees for processing credit cards and rates may vary due to a variety of reasons. You will receive all pricing and fee quotes prior to moving forward. 

Do I need a merchant account?

No, but it does limit the software from doing its job properly.  Customers prefer to take care of business all at once if they can.  By having them bring in a check, cash flow is delayed, and it is a manual process to log the cash or check payments on the student account.  When you take credit cards, the payment is automatically logged to the correct student account, and the money is on its way to your bank account.  We've heard from customers that once they took credit cards, parents were actually paying in full for services rather than the minimum deposit required. We recommend you have your own merchant account, and we can certainly set that up for you.

Can I continue to use my existing website?

Yes, you can, but we will need access to your website. We need to host your site on our servers and set up the relevant pages that are propagated by data from the software. You may continue to have FTP access to your site; however, if you break something in the code while making your own revisions, you will be charged by us to fix it. We strongly encourage you to call us immediately if you have caused something to stop working on the public side. No access to the scheduling software's code is available so there is no need to worry about breaking this.

Can I use my Gmail email account?

We prefer that you use a domain-based email address. For instance, if your business website address is www.XYZDrivingschool.com, you and your employees should have email accounts such as YourName@XYZdrivingschool.com. We want you to market your driving school's website with every email you send. Why would you want to promote Gmail? We provide virus scanned, spam filtered, domain-based email for your business. Plus you can set it up on your smartphone, Outlook, Thunderbird, or our web-based Squirrelmail - webmail for nuts!

I need a domain name. How do I go about that?

The best thing to do is contact your account manager. We take care of it for you. When going through the process of registering a domain, it can be tricky. The registrars make every effort to up-sell you along the way for things you don't need. Our company will be hosting your site, entering all server information, and taking care of your email set up. Just leave domain registration to us. What is a 15 minute process for us could waste an hour or more of valuable time for someone not familiar with the process. All domains are registered with Network Solutions.

Do I own my website domain?

Yes, all domains you request are registered in your business's name. We are the administrative and technical contacts on your account. When your domain is up for renewal, we will take care of that as well and bill you the cost. You never need to worry about your domain expiring. All domains are registered at a minimum of 5 year intervals to get the best value for you.

Does your software work on a Mac or different browser?

Yes, our websites and the software are designed to be cross compatible with Mac's or PC's as well as browser compatible with Firefox and Internet Explorer.

I'm ready to get started. What do I do now?

Great! Go to our sign up page and enter your information to place your $100 deposit. You will be assigned an Account Manager who will guide you through the process of providing us the content and documentation we need to complete your site. With basic information about your driving school, we have all the tools necessary to create your new, powerful drivers ed website. Congratulations and thank you!

Software Features

We are just a small school. Is this software still right for me?

Yes. This software is designed especially to help the small driving school. It's difficult to be in all places at once. The software will become your virtual receptionist and help you with scheduling, cancellation, and registration situations. Being a sole proprietor, you need all the help you can get. Best of all, you won't have to cut a payroll check for your new receptionist.  

Can the software limit the time between BTW drive times?

Yes. If you want to set the software to limit the number of days between BTW sessions, it can do so. Whether it is two days or five days between drive times allowed, you can determine those numbers.

Can I manage the content on my website?

Yes! Many sections of your site are considered dynamic, meaning they pull data from the back-end scheduling software and automatically fill in the information on your public site. These sections include FAQ's, Classroom Schedules, Rules and Regulations, Resources, Locations, and more. Most of the other pages in the site can be easily changed using our Webpage Manager tool. This gives you control over adding just the right content to your website any time you'd like!

Is there a limit to the number of students or instructors I can have?

No. The software is designed to give you the flexibility you need to grow your business allowing you to add unlimited students and instructors as well as locations.

Can I ask you to create a custom report for me?

Yes, of course.  When that time comes, we'll want you to have a conversation with your account manager and our lead developer.  We can discuss what type of data you'd like pulled for your report and what it will entail to accomplish. 

Does your software work with multiple districts?

Yes, you may set up as many districts as you need. The software will propagate the public front end site to include all the districts you cover.

Is the software compatible on a mobile device?

Yes, it looks great on an iPad too. Just think. If you provided your instructors with an iPad or TabletPC in the car, they could be taking attendance and updating the student's performance before they even pull back into the office - everything up-to-date for you or the parents to see.

Can you translate my site into Spanish?

Si, Señor/Señora. For an extra fee, we can have your front end website translated for you.

Will I have website statistics?

Yes, your website will be set up with Google Analytics. We believe it's important to have this critical data to help market your site. You receive the username and password to your account. If you would like us to set up specific reports for you, please speak to your account manager for a quote.

Is there a Help Desk?

We have a full help desk within the software for students, instructors, and administrators. This will give you step-by-step instructions on how to work with the software in case you get stuck. If you're not finding the answer you need, you can contact us right from within the help center!

Can my instructors schedule their work hours or do I determine their work hours?

Which would you prefer? Because you can have it either way. Some schools want their instructors to have the flexibility to add their own availability. Some schools want a more structured schedule so they can call the shots. The beauty of this software is you can decide.

What if my students do not have access to a computer at home to schedule their drive times?

Because this is a web-based application, your students can schedule drive times any where there is internet access such as school, the library, or a friend's house. Like you, your students have no extra software to download, purchase, or learn. They simply login to their account where they can access all their account information.

Software Support

How do I change the services listed on my website?

Modifying the services on your website is simple. Login to your software account (as the administrator) and select the "Manage Services" link on the main page of your Administrator Center. From here you will be able to add, edit, and delete any services your driving school offers.

What if a student forgets their account password?

If a student forgets their password, they can click the "Forgot your password?" link, and an email will be sent to the account on file. Once the student clicks the link located in the email, they will be prompted to enter their username and new password, resetting their account password.

Why can't I see BTW times on the website?

This feature is not displayed on the public website. Once you log into your student account, you will see available and reserved sessions.

Do you have tutorials on how to use the software?

Yes, there is a complete Help Center available when you log into your Admin Center.   This Help Center has step-by-step instructions on how to use the software as well as screen captures of any process at hand.

What hours do you have tech support?

Our typical hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00 CST. However, if you have an emergency after hours, simply call our office and select option "4" on our messaging software. Your call will be transferred to one of our account managers. If you should leave a voicemail, we will also receive email notification of your message, so no fear that it won't be listened to until the following business day. You may also email your question; as business owners, like you, we are probably working on the weekends too.

Can I make a suggested feature for future revisions?

Yes, we always welcome suggestions but can not guarantee when or if they will be released in a future revision. We take into consideration the most popular requests and set our priority list. Pricing & Policies

Can I try your scheduling software for free?

No, but you can experience all the software has to offer with our demo site after requesting a username and password login. After you've had a chance to experiment with this test drive and you know you are ready to proceed, we will begin the process of setting up your custom driving school website.

What will it cost for future updates to my website?

Updates to the scheduling software to make improvements are at no cost to you. Updates to your public site are billed at our sister company's normal hourly rate of $70 per hour. Time is billed in 15 minute increments. Anytime you wish to have updates done that may take more than hour, we encourage you to request a quote. That way you know exactly what your improvements will cost before the invoice arrives. We pride ourselves on staying within 10% of our budget on any quoted work.

What will it cost for future revisions/upgrades to the software?

Nothing! It is our way of continually providing outstanding service to our clients. We want you to be happy. Anytime we can improve upon our software, we want everyone to share in the upgrades at no cost.

Is there a website hosting fee?

Website hosting is included with your $25 per month subscription fee for the software. You also receive any future enhancements to the software for free.

Is there a subscription fee?

There is a $25 per month subscription fee.  Invoices are sent on or about the first of the month.  You may pay any invoice by mailing a check to us or with a credit card or debit card in your Admin Center by clicking the link "Pay Your Invoice".

Can I charge more than the per-student cost and use it as a revenue stream for my business?

Yes. Because the per-student cost is so low and the value of the software so high, it will be easy for you to justify an increase in the per-student cost and use this as a means of generating additional income for your business. You will be the best judge of what your geographic location will support for the up-charge.

What is your refund policy?

Your initial deposit is non-refundable. 

What is your cancellation policy?

You must provide a written 30-day cancellation notice to Drivers Ed Solutions, LLC. Please provide your reason for cancelling service and mail this notice to:

Website Design & Marketing

I am organizing a conference, and I would like your company to give a presentation. Will you travel to my location?

Yes. We'd be happy to give a presentation at your conference. We require a minimum of 100 participants and a mailing list of your attendees. We can negotiate the amount of time but to properly demonstrate the features of the software, we need a minimum of one hour on the agenda. We would also request a booth space we can occupy to answer any questions. We prefer to present mid-morning if your agenda permits, as we find people enjoy asking us lots of questions about their websites throughout the day. There is no fee to you for having us present at your conference.

I don't have a website. Can you design one for me?

Yes, you bet we can. We have a number of themes to choose from that can be colorized to fit your company colors. If you have something else in mind, we can design your very own unique website for an additional fee. Ask your account manager for a quote.

Can you set up my facebook page?

Absolutely. Just ask your Account Manager to provide you a quote, and we'll take care of the rest.

Can I use photos of my school and students?

Yes, we can use your photos in the development of your new website. You simply have to supply them when you submit your website content, student contracts, and domain information. If you don't have usable photos, we have a variety of stock photo options for you from which to choose.

Can you assist with my marketing materials?

Absolutely! Drivers Ed Solutions partners with First Net Impressions, our sister company, who specialize in complete marketing materials for their clients. Contact us for any logo design, printed materials, ad placements, or postcard mailings, and we'll get you introduced to your First Net Impressions representative.

Can you help me with my search engine optimization?

Yes. Our sister company, First Net Impressions, is an expert in the field of search engine optimization. They have over 15 years of experience in the website design and graphic design arenas. Basic search engine optimization is also included in your initial set up. If you would like additional help with placing Pay-per-click campaigns or social media campaigns, we have what you need to get the job done right.

Can you design a logo for me?
